Star Tribune Newspapers Emerge from Bankruptcy Protection

The Star Tribune newspaper group operates several local newspapers in Minnesota and Texas.  The company recently emerged from its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, which means it is now free to operate without the supervision of a bankruptcy trustee and bankruptcy judge.  In connection with the bankruptcy, its senior lenders now own roughly 95% of the outstanding stock of Star Tribune Holding Company, which will soon be renamed Star Tribune Media Company LLC.

The company’s debt was slashed from over $450 million to just over 100 million  in the bankruptcy proceedings.
